In the premium home espresso class, two names come up most among our buyers: the La Marzocco Linea Mini and the Profitec Pro 700. Both are dual boiler, both built from commercial-grade components — but their characters differ greatly.
Linea Mini: a café machine, shrunk
The Linea Mini uses the same saturated group philosophy as the commercial Linea: temperature barely moves shot to shot. Its ergonomics are bar ergonomics — a paddle, a commercial steam wand, and a body that feels like a real café machine in your kitchen. Its side panels can be swapped for colour, from stainless to custom.
Right for: owners who make milk-based drinks daily, host guests often, and want the experience (and look) of a commercial bar at home.
Pro 700: E61 precision with a rotary pump
The Pro 700 takes the classic route: the legendary E61 group, PID for both boilers, and a rotary pump far quieter than a vibration pump — a big plus for open kitchens. It's also ready for direct plumbing, a feature rare in its class.
Right for: home baristas who enjoy the process, love the consistency of the E61 workflow, and value a quiet machine.
The honest verdict
- Choose the Linea Mini if the priority is steam power, absolute temperature stability, and commercial-machine DNA.
- Choose the Pro 700 if the priority is quietness, direct plumbing, and the best value in the premium dual-boiler class.
- Both are available as display units at our showroom — the fairest way to compare is to pull shots on both, the same day, with the same beans.
